Course Description

One of the tasks that sysadmins may face is to relocate objects within a domain or forest to a different location, and this task requires the use of many tools. Ideally, any relocation that you perform should be well-planned and authorized by change management. However, sometimes sysadmins must perform urgent Active Directory (AD) migrations due to severe hardware failures or as part of an Incident Response plan. At this workshop, we will join forces to do the migration from start to finish. We start with Server 2003, and end with a Cloud solution. Step by step, with joint efforts, we are doing the migration from 2003 to 2022 with all the necessary tools and preparations. Finally, we jump to Azure Active Directory with all security settings as well as a deep dive of Azure services that we can use with different ON-Prem roles/services.

Delivery

The class will be realized in the form of 30% presentation and 70% demo exercises, lab exercises and constructive discussion. Dedicated slides designed on the basis of official Microsoft literature will be used for the presentations. Demo and lab exercises are designed on concrete examples of interaction with Windows Server.
