Interview Skills

This year is one of the toughest ever for job seekers at all levels. With so many excellent candidates for so few jobs, you have to distinguish yourself from the pack. Doing a good interview is a skill. People who get the jobs they want don’t do so by chance. Successful candidates use every conceivable means possible to prepare for their interviews. The best way to ensure you are ready is to work with skilled, experienced professionals who can focus you to give your best performance in the all-important, once-off interview.

Professional Training’s team of consultants has vast experience in preparing candidates for interviews. We help make the difference between achievement and rejection using best-practice techniques–and a lot of practical experience and common sense.

Crystal Reports - getting the most from Business Intelligence (BI)

The key to unlocking information is to give users the tools to quickly and easily find answers to their questions. Standard reports that are updated on a regular basis provide some answers but the information that a user finds will often trigger more questions, and these questions will not be answered in a prepackaged report.

Crystal Reports is the world leader for flexible, ad-hoc reporting for all sizes of organisation. While users may spend 80% of their time accessing standard or personalized reports, you will find that for 20% of their tasks, they need to go elsewhere to obtain additional information not available in the original report. To address this need and avoid end user frustration (and related report backlog for the IT team), a BI system like Crystal Reports is required that lets users autonomously make ad hoc requests for information from corporate data sources.

Using Crystal Reports to its full potential requires expert training whether for new users or those seeking more advanced skills. Contact us for details of how Professional Training can assist you.

Excel Macros from A to Z – be more efficient

Properly written Macros save time - it's very simple. Badly written Macros cause lost time and extreme frustration.
While it takes more time to write your first macro than to do it manually, in the long-run you will be amazed at the time you save - if you get it right.

This new course aims to ensure that participants can record, edit and benefit from the power of Macros to make them more effective and competitive.

Assertiveness Skills in the workplace

Work is a pressurized environment – all the more so in a recession. More conflict is evident, as people react negatively to the stress being felt in all aspects of our daily working lives. It’s all the more important to understand how to be assertive in this situation.

Assertiveness comes naturally to some, but is a skill that can be learned. The assertive person clearly expresses his or her rights or needs. They tend to face problems promptly and they focus on solutions rather than problems. Their behaviour is to promote communication and problem solving.

People who have mastered the skill of assertiveness are able to greatly reduce the level of interpersonal conflict in their lives, thereby reducing a major source of stress. Our programme successfully assists participants in understanding how and when to be assertive. Click here for details.

What effective managers really do

To be effective, managers need a wide range of skills and techniques. In addition to core skills of leadership, motivation, communication and planning, they need to be good negotiators, coaches, trainers and report writers.

Professional Training’s courses help new and experienced managers to build a comprehensive skill-set to respond successfully to the unexpected as well as business as usual. Our trainers are experienced consultants who avoid theoretical jargon and focus on developing skills that lead to clear improvement in personal performance back in the workplace.
